Ο Ζοακίμ Λαφός κέρδισε το Ασημένιο Κέλυφος Καλύτερου Σκηνοθέτη στο Σαν Σεμπαστιάν το 2015 με την ταινία Les chevaliers blancs (The White Knights). Προηγουμένως είχε σκηνοθετήσει τις ταινίες Nue propriété(Private Property, 2006), που διαγωνίστηκε στη Βενετία, Élève libre / Private Lessons (2008), που παρουσιάστηκε στην Quinzaine des cinéastes των Καννών, και À perdre la raison (Our Children, 2012), που προβλήθηκε στην ενότητα Un Certain Regard στο φεστιβάλ των Καννών, όπου η Émilie Dequenne απέσπασε το Βραβείο Καλύτερης Ηθοποιού. Με την ταινία L’économie du couple (After Love, Perlak, 2016) επέστρεψε στην Quinzaine des cinéastes, ενώ αργότερα παρουσίασε την Continuer (Keep Going, 2018) στις Giornate degli Autori στη Βενετία. Το 2021 διαγωνίστηκε στις Κάννες με το Les intranquilles (The Restless, Perlak) και το 2023 έκανε το ίδιο στο Σαν Σεμπαστιάν με το Un silence (A Silence).

Joachim Lafosse won the Silver Shell for Best Director at San Sebastián in 2015 with Les chevaliers blancs (The White Knights). Previously, he had directed Nue propriété (Private Property, 2006), a competitor in Venice, Élève libre / Private Lessons (2008), presented at the Quinzaine des cinéastes in Cannes, and À perdre la raison (Our Children, 2012), shown in Un Certain Regard at the French fest, where Émilie Dequenne landed the Best Actress Award. With L’économie du couple (After Love, Perlak, 2016) he returned to the Quinzaine des cinéastes, later presenting Continuer (Keep Going, 2018) at the Giornate degli Autori in Venice. In 2021 he competed at Cannes with Lesintranquilles (The Restless, Perlak) and in 2023 did the same in San Sebastián with Un silence (A Silence).
